The Alloy Block —— 1 +1 = 11
Alloy was developing a mixed use site across from Barclays Center and Atlantic Terminal in the center of downtown Brooklyn. This project was Alloys first major build and different from a typical development plan, but could easily have read as one of many downtown gentrification efforts.
We noted the usual “Brooklyn” brand tropes and decided to do the opposite. The idea was to help Alloy become the Muji of developers. Their downtown site became a simple, transparent, bullshit-free effort to build within the community, not despite it.
